In Case Death Is A Bust

"In Case Death Is A Bust" is a series that embraces the idea that if nothing happens after we die, if there is nothing else, I'll spend my time making art that makes me feel alive. Two things that make me feel alive are my meditation and art practices. They require me to be awake and active and inspire me to optimistically reach the highest, most evolved, enlightened, or "alive" version of myself. Blending these practices allows me to fuse mindfulness with creation, awareness with physicality, and surprise with delight to create unexpected forms and compositions.

Single Vision

The first installment in this series is titled "Single Vision," a group of mixed media works on paper that marked a turning point when I dedicated my life to my art practice. The pieces in Single Vision are inspired by and titled after a Stanley Kunitz poem of the same name. Rigorously worked surfaces are built up and reworked to create compositions that hang in a tenuous equilibrium, with elements in states of becoming, existing, and decaying simultaneously.
